Depart the hotel while the morning remains cool and crisp for the bustle of the local open air market. Peruse stalls of fresh produce, chat with vendors, and hand pick locally grown ingredients for the class. A local chef will guide the class through traditional Shan cooking: orientation of ingredients, guiding through various stages of prep, insider instruction and, and of course, the cooking! Then, the feast. As Shan food is some of the finest cuisine in Myanmar, this will be a sensational meal.

After lunch and a brief rest for digestion, we’ll take a canoe trip around Inle Lake. 900 metres above sea level and nestled between two mountains, Inle Lake is one of Myanmar’s most prized natural treasures. Glide through floating hyacinth gardens past Intha fishermen and women trading their wares in floating marketplaces. Return to the hotel at 1:00pm.
